While new to the American market our "exotic" wood species are quickly gaining popularity here thanks to their usage and superior reputation for hardness, color and grain, within the Japanese and European flooring markets. As direct importers from foreign mills, we are able to offer these "exotic" hardwoods with their unique characteristics in quantities and at price points that rival less interesting domestics. All of our woods are solid, precision fit, tongue and groove, special milled to reduce beveled edges, factory finished with 3 coats of polyurethane or unfinished by special order. Currently we ship within the United States and Canada and offer outstanding warranties.
McAlpine Exotic Hardwood Flooring was incorporated in the state of Michigan in 2003. Our hardwoods are grown and harvested halfway around the globe and most Americans have not yet heard of these beautiful species. McAlpine Exotic Hardwoods are processed, milled and finished in Asia, however our products are produced in Vietnam which has much higher quality standards than China. Our manufacturers have been in business for over 20 years and are SGS certified and FCS certified which means they strive to meet the chain of custody standards and the criteria from a well managed forest program.
McAlpine Exotic Hardwood Flooring has an agent in Saigon, Vietnam that has been in the flooring and export business for several years and personally travels to each manufacturer and inspects the facility and the actual manufacturing process of our brand of hardwood flooring.
Our manufacturers presently ship to Europe and Japan where it has been extremely popular for several years. McAlpine Exotic Hardwood Flooring is the first company to import these rare and beautiful species to the United States. These woods are harder than North American Oak and are competitive in price. When you see a sample you will see why we are excited about their innate natural beauty.

Hardness Rating of Our Floors
The hardness of wood is measured using the JANKA hardness method. It calculates the amount of pressure in pounds that it takes
to embed a .444" steel ball half its diameter into the wood. North American Oak, which has a JANKA rating of 1290, is the industry
benchmark for comparing the relative hardness of different species. Almost all of our species are harder than North American Oak.
OUR MISSION is to provide the highest quality "Exotic" Hardwood Flooring at competitive prices. Our floors add value to your home, cottage or commercial building. We strive to add warmth, charm or salsa to your floor so that your floor becomes a compliment rather than a whimsical common surface.
